Acrylics and Ink

I made this long time ago, i dont know what i was thinking or how i was feeling wheni did this.
I used to acrylics and ink to do this, i didnt know much about acrylics, but its pretty much like oil paint, only that hte difference is that acrylics dries faster than oil paint. The advantage of using oil paint is that you can always go back and rearrange because the paint would still be fresh.
I see art everyday, everywhere. My life is surrendered by infamous artists that unconsciously are capable to create art, but the difference is, just few of them can see the beauty with ordinay eyes.

Oil Paint

8 months ago, before moving to Chicago, i was living in North Carolina with my uncles and gradparents. My family moved to Chicago before but i stayed to finish high school. I didnt have a job at that time, so money was an issue for me, but no matter what i never took money from my savings account. One day going to an art and craft store, something caught my eye, drawing classes! I signed up and paid for the classes which was just 2 days a week, my teacher a professional artist from Italy told me that the drawing class was too easy for me, so later i signed up for oil painting classes, but i knew i couldnt afford it for too long, so did i really wanted to signed up and spend my money on that? like any other stupid 19 year old i did, and after 3 months my pockets were empty, leaving me with no cash but with a dream. I did that because i believe that small sacrificies at first can bring more things to you in the future. The only thing that has changed since then, is that now i have a job and i make more than anyone else in my family, but my dreams still the same, maybe i havent give up enough yet. This is how art is relate to me and my life.

Here are some of the paintings that i made on my own, after taking classes with my instructor, enjoy :-)

Acrylics

I wanted to try a new media and i bought some acrylics and i started to paint, and see if i would like it. I love fairytales, one of the most interesting to me is little red riding hood. The idea of painting someone in a dark forest was pretty cool. Here, on the left, my very first painting with acrylics, and it doesnt look good at all :-p
I had heard of acrylicspaint so many times and i knew artists that had used this media and i wanted to try it.

Pencil color and ink

I draw this like a year ago, and it took me about 2 weeks to finish it because i was doing it while i was working :-p

Back then i was very interested in Alex Pardee, Scramly, Billy Martin and Gris Grimly artworks. Those name are not really famous, most of them are just musicians, toys designers or book illustrators. There artwork are based in gore, blood, monster, vampires, zombie, bats, etc.

Everyone has different phases to go thru life, and mine is reflected in my drawings and paintings.

Oil pastel

I dont go out too much during the day, because i work 4 days a week. Since i like art, i have to deal with my own paintings nad drawings everyday, so i take my time to take pictures and show you guys some of my artworks.

As you can see in the left, theres a house that i painted with oil pastels, i have been interested in using this media since i was a kid, i used to use oil pastels very often in my art class back in elementary. One of my high school teachers brought back this media to my life, cause it have been so long since i painted with oil pastels. I rememember i painted a tropical house from a magazine, is not the one in the left picture, but it was another house. I was so happy when my teacher choose my artworks to hang in my high school hall way.

Last Supper

One of my favorite painting by Leonardo Da Vinci is "Last supper" which portraits Jesus last supper with his twelve Apostles before his death. The reference of Last Supper is to take the bread and the wine, Jesus told his disciples, "Do this in remembrance of me" and the vessel which was used to serve the wine is sometimes called the holy chalice. Jesus divided up some bread and hands the pieces to his disciples, saying this is my body. Then he took a cup of wine, known as the Holy Grail and hands it around, saying this is my blood of the everlasting 'covenant', which is poured for many. According to the Canonical Gospels, during the meal, Jesus revealed that one of his Apostles would betray him, everyone denied but Jesus told them it would be one of those who were present.

I find this painting very interesting because they are so many hidden secrets and enigmas. The say that intead of John, was Mary Magdalene who was there, there is a theory that Jesus was married to her.
Also theres a hand with a dager, which doesnt seem to corespond to anyone in the picture, studys lately assume it was Peter's right hand. The dager is pointing to Bartholomew, who was execute for being exposed.

Here is a zoom picture where you can see the image better.
I have seen the movie " The Da Vinci code", its good movie, but theres so much discussion about religion on it, they say Leonardo might have been the leader of a secret society of the holy grail. The movie is all about trying to find the puzzle and finding them in Da vinci's painting.
